Information on the road closure of the B4009 from its junction with Red Shute Hill to A329 Reading Road on 2nd-5th September 2026.

Hampstead Norreys is an English civil parish within the unitary authority of West Berkshire
Hampstead Norreys is a vibrant and welcoming village with a thriving community shop, school, pub and recreational area, which includes our village hall. Our appearance in the final of the 2018 Village of the Year competition illustrates how active our residents are and the range of activities and events that take place within our village. The Parish Council are committed to ensuring that they help maintain the well-being and appearance of the village and work hard to ensure that facilities and groups are supported throughout the village. The Parish Council holds responsibility for the Dean Meadow and playground and also supports the maintenance of the Churchyard and the cricket pitch. There is also continuing support for the Village Hall, including its planned expansion.

New table tennis table now installed at Dean Meadow - funded by The National Lottery Community Fund. Bring your own bats and balls and enjoy a game this summer, inspired by ideas from The Downs School students.

New Water Fountain Installed at the Recreation Ground
Following feedback from village secondary‑school students, the Parish Council has installed a new drinking water fountain at the recreation ground. It is now in place and available for young people and all visitors to use.

Residents are invited to show support for the proposed speed‑limit scheme for Hampstead Norreys. A petition has been set up on the West Berkshire Council website. View the scheme and sign the petition using the links on our website.
